Ceramics & Redundancy
My Studio
I have my pottery wheel set up and ready to go. I have done a few trial firings and adjusted my layout to suit my work style. Really enjoyed rummaging through old, discarded items in our house to recycle in my studio. Even the vinyl floorboards are left over from an old house renovation, and the plywood was salvaged from the builder.
Every studio must have music! The speakers you see in the photo were my husband’s, purchased over 20 years ago. Honestly, the sound from these old speakers is better than our Sonos installed in the house!
I’m sure the neighbours are confused about what I am doing in the shed out the back, music playing and emerging at the end of the day covered in mud and paint.
I am excited to begin my new venture with Imago Ceramics. It has been important to spend time doing something I love while looking for ongoing employment. It gives me some control and happiness while I trudge through the post-AI job market.
Who knows, I might make enough money through my ceramic work to cover my costs and pay the electricity bill !!!
